“What dost thou mean by, “Google is suing me”?  What is this Google thou speaketh of?   A rival deity?”

“Oh… this is a subpoena… yes… yes… Alright.  This all appears to be in order.  Well, I guess I can become the Goddess of something else then… maybe hotdogs.  I like hotdogs.”

And, Yea, it came upon the olden times, that the peasants of the kingdom did doff eyes of a googly nature…

And, yea, all peasants of all professions did wear yon googly eyes, even the town baker, who in general doth protest such silliness and frivolity…

And, yea, bards and heralds of all towns and clans did sing verses telling of the wearing of the eyes that doth sway to side to side when jostled.   And there was much rejoicing.

“Do any of you wonder what’s up there?  I mean up in the sky?”

“Uhh… No.  It’s just the sky.  The whole world is down here.”

“Yeah, we already know all we need to know about the stupid ol’ sky..”

“That’s not enough for me… I think there’s something going on up there!  Haven’t you ever wondered what those strange patterns of color are?”

“Don’t stretch up too far!  Your stalk will break!”

“Yeah, be careful!  No one ever gained anything by sticking their neck out!”

“I’m going for it.  Just a bit further… just a bit further… almost there and… OH MY GOD!!!”

“W-we’re not growing upwards!  WE’RE HANGING UPSIDE DOWN!  Our world IS the sky!”

“Ooohh.. dear.  He stretched his stalk so far it cut of the air to his brain.”

“Yeah, what a moron…”

“I, Moses, have decided to lead our people to freedom across the desert to the Promised Land.”

“Uh, Moses… we did that last week.  You saved all of our people.   It was miraculous!  Don’t you rememeber?”

“Everyone!  Follow me to the Promised Land!”

“I think it’s right around the corner!  Stay with me everyone!”

“Moses, I know it’s right around the corner.  We were just there a few minutes ago.  Are you feeling alright?”

“And here we are!  The Promised Land!  We have found our home at last!”

“Moses, I think we need to find you a new “Promised Land”, one where you can be looked after by a team of caring specialists…”

Anthropologists are all atwitter over the latest discovery of yet another undiscovered wood-age tribe: The Floater Tribe

The Floaters live high in the tree canopies harvesting food and spending a great deal of time socializing and engaging in tribal dances.

There is a very strict hierarchical social order that they all obey.  There are important social niceties and rituals for superiors and inferiors that incur great penalties if they are no followed.

This fellow is giving the traditional full stare given to a superior.  He was obviously impressed by our cameras and equipment and believed himself to be below our stature.

This higher classed individual is wearing the regal green of a leader.  His stance seems to be ambiguous towards us.  Almost giving us the submissive full-stare and yet giving the detached, quarter turn glance that a superior gives to one lesser than his or her place in their society.

You may say that such a rigid social structure is a bad thing, but who are we to judge how other civilizations decide how to run their own lives?  Now that the rest of humanity has made contact with this lost tribe it is only a matter of time until they change to match the rest of the world.  Until then, we in the anthropology community will study and learn all we can from them before they are assimilated into modern western culture.

I met Lady Toni at the Mandarin House in Overland for some Dim Sum this Saturday.  It was incredibly delicious and I recommend it to all.

Plus I found this awesome Chinese dragon/lion thing to googly outside.  I should have googled some of the food, but it was so tasty I forgot.
